I miss Geneva terribly. What does everyone think of Amityville, Andrew Montgomery's new band?

I saw Puressence at the Carling Academy in London back in October. The new songs sound pretty good. I don't know if anything could compare to "Only Forever" though. It seemed like I waited forever (four years?) for "Planet Helpless ." I couldn't help but be disappointed. But it wasn't that the songs were all that bad, but the production really hurts the record. Anyway the show was pretty good... for being held at what seemed to be a shopping mall. The setlist was lacking though. But I think it was worth the twelve-hour flight just to hear "Sharpen Up The Knives."

I have to say that I think "Lifeblood" is probably the best Manics album yet. A cross of Everything Must Go and TIMTTMY to my ears. Funny that the single is the only song I don't like. I've only seen them live once at the Move festival in Manchester '03, but anyone who was there will tell you it was pretty special. The highlight for me was "Small Black Flowers That Grow In The Sky."

I didn't know Andrew Montgomery had a new band...And I didn't enjoy Planet Helpless was anywhere near as good as Only Forever, which I bought after hearing 'All I Want' on kids TV. Sharpen Up the Knives was a pleasant surprise.

I do like Lifeblood, and there are some great songs on it, but I don't like it as much as some of there early albums. I think they deliberately released the weakest single, for what reason I can't remember...
